SURFE²R Workstation family

A new level of performance

The SURFE²R™ Workstation family is the next-generation of label-free measurement systems from IonGate. Based on IonGate’s proprietary biosensor technology, SURFE²R Workstations are a range of automated systems designed specifically for applications in transporter-based basic research and drug discovery where higher throughput is required.

The SURFE²R Workstation family consists of four systems, tailored to meet different customer's requirements: Workstation 5, 50, 500 and 5000.

The SURFE²R technology combines the benefits of label-free and cell-free biosensor technology. All systems offer sensor holders for single sensors, sensor plates – or both.

Sensors can be replaced quickly and easily in all systems. Any type of protein or membrane preparation that works on one type of Workstation will work all systems equally well. All SURFE²R Workstations utilize a fluidic system, which consists of an IonJet™, fluidic head, a set of PTFE tubing, syringe and membrane pumps. The design of the fluidic system ensures that only chemically inert plastics and alloys come in contact with potentially adhesive test compounds.

Thanks to the fluidics features, common to the whole range, SURFE²R Workstations provide high-content data of transporter activity, enabling in-depth analysis of transporter function. The user interface is identical for all family members with respect to signal characterization, whereas liquid handling options vary according to the system’s capabilities.
